With his wife Memphis Minnie on lead guitar, Joe McCoy laid down this seminal cut which much later became a hit for Led Zeppelin. A true folk blues original, this song sounds as sweet today as it did in 1929.
This is truly archetypical blues song. What happened to Jim, Willy and Lulu by The Memphis Jug Band tracks this tragic tale with music, that you forget the story is so wrong!

Appalachian style blues coming from one of my personal faves, the South Memphis Jug Band. This is basically an instrumental jam piece with heavy fiddle and banjo tendencies. Many musicians wish they could pull it off like this 1933 classic! Hope you enjoy.
